Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Tag Planner (“we,” “our,” or “us”) collects, uses, shares, and protects your information when you use our hunt-planning service with free and paid accounts. By using the Service, you agree to this Policy.
1. Information We Collect
Information you provide:
- Account data — your email address and password (stored only as a secure hash), and optionally your name.
- Profile and plan data — the goals, budget, home state, physical profile, and preferences you enter, plus the plans, saved units, and points balances we generate or store for you.
- Payment information — if you subscribe, your payment is processed by Stripe. We receive a customer and subscription identifier and limited billing metadata (such as plan, status, billing country, and the last four digits and brand of your card). We never receive or store your full card number.
- Support messages — anything you send us through the contact form or by email.
Information collected automatically:
- Usage and analytics data via PostHog — pages viewed, navigation patterns, device and browser type, approximate location derived from IP, and usage events.
- Error and performance logs via Sentry — stack traces, browser/OS info, and the URL where an error occurred.
- IP address for rate limiting, bot protection, and abuse prevention.

2. How We Use Information
- To create and operate your account and deliver your plans.
- To process subscriptions, billing, and renewals.
- To send transactional messages (account, security, billing, and the deadline reminders you have enabled).
- To diagnose errors, prevent abuse, and secure the Service.
- To understand which features are useful so we can prioritize work.
- To comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not run advertising. We do not train AI models on your personal data without your opt-in consent.
3. How We Share Information
We share personal information only in these limited ways:
- Service providers (sub-processors). With the vendors listed in Section 5, solely to provide the Service.
- Legal and safety. When required by law, subpoena, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Tag Planner, our users, or the public.
- Business transfers. In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, subject to this Policy.
- With your direction. For example, when you generate a shareable plan link.
4. Retention
- Account and plan data: kept while your account is active; deleted on account deletion (see Section 6).
- Billing records: retained as required for tax and accounting purposes.
- Analytics events: up to 12 months.
- Error logs: up to 90 days.
- Request logs and rate-limit IP records: up to 30 days.
5. Third-Party Sub-Processors
We rely on the following sub-processors, each with its own privacy and security practices:

6. Your Choices and Rights
You can access and update most of your information directly in your account settings. You can also:
- Export your data from your account settings.
- Delete your account and associated personal data from your account settings; we act on deletion requests promptly.
- Manage email preferences, including opting out of non-essential messages.
- Contact us at support@tag-planner.com to exercise any right or ask a privacy question.
We honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals for opt-out preferences.
7. US State Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live (for example, California, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, or Utah), you may have the right to:
- Know and access the personal information we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate personal information.
- Delete your personal information.
- Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information and of targeted advertising.
- Not be discriminated against for exercising your rights.
Do Not Sell or Share. We do not sell your personal information and do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. To exercise any right, email support@tag-planner.com. You may use an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf. We will verify your request using the information associated with your account and respond within the time required by applicable law.
8. Data Security
We use technical and organizational safeguards to protect your information, including encryption in transit and at rest, access controls, and bot protection. See our Security page for detail. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Children
The Service is not directed to children under 13, and accounts are limited to adults. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
10. Service Region and International Users
Tag Planner is a US-based service intended for users in the United States, and data is processed in the United States. We make no guarantees regarding cross-border data transfers or compliance outside the US.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date above, and where appropriate we will notify account holders.
